Glaze Options on Paint

Eclipse Cabinetry Glaze Options on Paint

Eclipse offers two types of glaze on paint. Our standard glaze features a hard line accentuating the profile of the door styles. The highlight and highlight with brushing has a less noticeable somewhat transparent line accentuating the profile of the door style. Brushing is a hand applied technique used to simulate a brush painted finish. These glazes are available on most paint colors. Our glazes are hand applied and wiped.

Standard Glaze Options on Paint Finishes

The following four glaze colors are available on most paint colors. Our glazes are hand applied and wiped. This hand applied technique results in a variation in the amount of glaze material retained from piece to piece and within the same piece. Variation in consistency is normal and should be expected.

Highlight Glazes on Paint Finishes

The Highlight glaze is a more subtle glazing technique than our traditional glaze and is only available on painted finishes in select colors (see chart below). The amount of Highlight material retained around doors, drawer fronts and other select components will vary from one piece to another. It features two highlight colors, Cafe and Slate, which are applied and wiped off by hand.

Highlight Glazes w/ Brushing Technique

The Brushing Technique is an optional finish technique that can be added to our Highlight Glazes on paint. It is a hand applied technique used to simulate a brush painted finish. Variations in brush stroke intensity, direction or overlap from piece to piece are common and should be expected. The Brushing Technique is only available when using a Highlight glaze.

Glaze Disclaimer: Glaze and highlight material is hand applied.  The amount and consistency retained around the door and drawer front profiles will vary.  Due to the glazing or highlighting process, the overall appearance of the glaze or highlight may vary.

Brush Technique: The brush technique is a hand-applied method that adds the look of subtle brush strokes and requires a highlight on painted finishes.  Due to the delicate and complex process, customers must be aware that samples and finished product will vary in intensity, direction and overlap.  Finished product may vary greatly from display or sample. Variation in glaze or highlight consistency is normal and is not covered by warranty.

Paint - Painted Finishes can show evidence of slight crack lines at joints In doors, frames, and at glue joints in panels. Due to natural expansion and contraction of wood. Door panels will shrink, exposing unfinished areas of wood, if proper humidification is not maintained in storage and after permanent installation. Areas of end grains on edges and panel cuts may exhibit voids in wood which appear as rough spots in wood. We consider these imperfections normal for solid wood products and will not be considered as cause for replacement. Metropolitan Doors with Painted Finishes will be Solid MDF.
